KiloPixel

That's right, you read my title right. KiloPixel. It's the newest word out there, espicially since I just created it today =). It's 1024 pixels, which means that right now, the lab's computers are running at 1k by .7k pixels.

OK, maybe kilopixel is a little crazy, but I haven't had any decent amount of sleep in a few days. All durring the weekend, I had to help my dad remodel, and so I discovered a new dislike of carpentry skills. It really isn't that unenjoyable, if you aren't listening to horrific music. As it was though, (at least until I complained, 3rd weekend in a row that I've helped him remodel) I was stuck listening to music done by artists like Carol King. I really dislike her music. A lot. And I really dislike listening to Carol King sound a likes. Give me good music!!!!!!!!! Anything is better than that!!!!!

I should have recieved my CoV beta disc today, but I haven't been home to check the mail. Of course, when I do start playing it (if I ever get the chance to, anyways), I won't be able to say anything about it, because of certain agreements that NCSoft includes in their Beta stuff. If I was awake, I could tell you what I mean by stuff. But I can't. So deal with it.

As for CoH, I've decided to lead a badge hunting group thing for my supergroup. The reason why is that I want to feel useful to them. As it stands, my char is some sort of not quite a blaster, not quite a healer, but a failure in both regards, kind of healer. On top of that, no one else in the group is my level, so I either have to exemp higher level members, which means they don't get XP, which I don't want to do that to them (OK, I like being exemped, but only because on any given day I am probally near the max of my debt), and on top of that, when I exemp them, I normally cause them to get more debt than they work off. And their is the fact that they only do my missions. I could help by being sidekicked, but I wouldn't have the powers or the slots of a higher level charcter. I would side kick other cats, but I doubt I'd be able to keep them alive. I'd exempm myself, but I seriously messed up my powers with a respec. So that ends up meaning that when I'm in a group, I feel that I don't pull my own weight, and that I'm just absorbing xp from everyone else. So if I lead this badge hunt, since I have mapped out the zones I'd be touring, I might actually be of use to my SG. Maybe. Hopefully.

On my next post, I'll bring out the next three stories of the Trials of the Feline Fellowship. Right now I'm too tired to do anything else (stupid lack of sleep.) Anyway, I have to log. Bye!

A return to School. Part 2!!!

Forgive me for not color coding this, but this is the second time I'm writting part two. I've forgoton a lot of what I said on the previous part two. Part one is posted, but part two has been lost to the ethers of cyberspace. Bye part two!!! I miss you... and maybe I should change the title to part three.

Anyway, what to say. I kind of relieved most of my depression and stress in the orginal part two, so I don't feel like going into that again (sorry!! I know that everyone out there just loves to read the meloncholly stuff I write, but not today!)(unless I get depressed in the time I write this.)

Anyway, one thing of note, I now have purchased a lot of music from one iTunes. In the month that I have had it, I purchased 70 songs. Most were in CDs, but still, 70 songs!!! I want to get an iPod for it, but right now I definatly don't have the money for one. I'm considering taking up a third job just to pay for college and books. (In reality, I'll probally spend it on stuff like clothes, computer stuff, and anime. But still!!!!).

Great, now I've lost my train of thought. It's quite easy to derail, but that's not the point! The point is, friends shouldn't interrupt me when I'm typing. Anyway, I'm not going to be productive tonight, so night!

A return to school

Well, school has started. My schedule isn't the slacker friendly schedule that I would like it to be =(. On Mondays and wednessdays, my schedule is as follows: calc at 7:40, a two hour break, Human Relations at 11, then I go to work, after work I return back to school to catch my 5:30 C++ class, then at 7 I hit the computer lab, and close it down at 9. On tuesdays, my schedule is this: I open the computer lab at 8, get done at 11, go to work, get back to school at 6 for my network fundamentals class, then I can finally go home at 9. Thursdays are similar to tuesdays, but without the network class, so I'll be able to go home and Sleep!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! =) =) =). Fridays are similar to Mondays and Wednessdays, but with out the C++ class, so I have an hour and a half break between work and lab. No extra sleep =*(.

To make matters worse, I might need to pick up a third job on Sundays, maybe doing computer repair or some other geeky thing that falls in my area of expertise. The reason for this is the textbook companies like money. They also like my money, and when I have to pay 500 dollars a semester in books alone, that's not good.

As for the things that happened since the last post, well, I've been busy (school only started on monday, I had a full few days to be busy with out school. ) I was able to clean out most of my closet (by most, I mean everything but my clothes. Someday I'll need to go through those). I found a lot of stuff I didn't think I had. Another printer, sheet music that I should have given back to my highschool orchestra teacher (hehe), books, and more stuff. Unfortunatly, in the process of cleaning my closet, I made the rest of my room unclean. One day I'll need to rectify that problem.

Also, I now have a new insect bite/infection thingy on my leg. Like the one I use to have on my arm, but now on my leg. It's either a spider bite or an infection. I don't know which, and the doctor doesn't know which.

Anyway, I need to log, so when I get home tonight, or when I close the lab tonight, I'm going to add a second post.

The Trials of the Feline Fellowship

Well, I told everyone I'd post my stories that I posted for my gaming group here, so here they are.

1) The sinister origins of Dr. Catopolis:
A long time ago, when the Feline Fellowship was founded, there were two cats behind its creation. One is the Shy-la that every member of the Feline Fellowship knows and loves, but the other is a more sinister character, spoken only of by the oldest members of the Supergroup, and then only in frightfull whispers, the cat's name was Catopolis.

When the Supergroup was founded, Shy-la wanted it to be founded on the principals of giving all cats and kittens a home, and giving all a community to feel at home in. Catopolis wanted something differnt. Catopolis felt that cats and kittens had too long been the playthings of men and other heroes. Catoplolis felt that the Feline Fellowship should unite all cats, and overthrow the oppressers. Catopolis envisioned a world where cat's, not humans, ruled supream, and the ruling group was the Feline Fellowship.

For a while, these two people with their confilciting ideas where able to hold together the group, but each new member would either side with Shy-la or with Catopolis. As the days passed, each side began to preach its ideals more and more forcefully, trying to out do the other, with flashing of claws and showing of fangs between the two groups becoming a common site.

Then one night, a group of normal humans were vicisously attacked by the followers of Catopolis, who now was fancied Dr. Catopolis. One person survied the attack, and blamed the Feline Fellowship for the entire assualt.

Outraged that Catopolis would do such a thing, Shy-la gathered her most trusted kittens, and made to assualt the Doctor, but the doctor was ready. For 10 long days did the two opposing factions of the Feline Fellowship battle each other. Claws Flashed, teath ripped, and fur was shredded in the epic battle.

But finally, Shy-la's group was able to overpower Dr. Catopolis. But being the compasionate leader she was, Shy-la could not kill Dr. Catopolis or the Doctor's minions. What she did instead was banish them to a far away, secluded area, known as the Rogue Isles.

Now, much time after the incident, dark clouds are on the horizon as City Officials discuss opening up trade, and thus transportation, to the Rogue Isles.

When the Rogue Islands become accisseble again, so will Catopolis and the Doctor's minions, who now style themselves the Feline Republic. What hideous and diabolical plots does the Doctor have in store? Only time may tell...

2) The Diabolical schemes of the silhouetted Lynx

Councilman Dorane was violently dragged into the office, chained and blindfolded. His captors, two ferocious belgium tigers, seemed to care little for Dorane's health, as demenstrated by his now-ripped and darkly stained clothes.

The office was a rather nice office. The desk in the center, the comfortable chair behind the dek, and the cabinets were all made of dark mahogony. The walls were a dark, toned down green, and the cieling, which was the source of the dim, foreboading light, was painted a muted maroon. Had Dorane not been blindfolded, chained, or at the mercy of two tigers, he would have liked the room. But present circumstances dictated otherwise.

The chair behind the desk, and thus the only chair in the room, was occupied, and from this occupiant came a seductive, female voice.

"Councilman Dorane.... so purrrfect to see you." Dorane was shocked to hear the voice. "I hear you have some.... oposition...? To the opening of transportation to the Rogue Isles."

With the mention of the Rogue Isles, Dorane seemed to regain his voice. "If that's what you want, you and your villiany is not getting a single vote in favor of the subject from me!" He said it with such ferocity, and with such conviction, that it caused the female voice to pause before continuing.

"Councilman, Councilman, Councilman..." came the female voice. "I don't want your vote. I do not even care about the issue. I just want you to listen to a recording I recieved earlier today." And with that, the occupant in the chair hit a single button on the desk.

An audio recording played through the room, and it was the sound of souls in Peredition, the sound of a thousand ungodly acts being commited upon a person.

After the recording stopped, Dorane fell to his knees, and stayed there for a few minutes before, in a barley audiable wishper, said "My son and wife..."

"24 hours." Came the reply from the occupant of the chair. "24 hours from now, or they do not leave the Rogue Isles alive. And when you send heroes to rescue them, only send memebers of the Feline Fellowship. Else..." With that, the two tigers dragged a still horrified Dorane out of the office.

With the city councilman out of the office, the occupant of the chair chuckled. The two relatives of Dorane were already dead. They were fed to the two hungry tigers that brought him in.

It was the perfect set up, really. Not only would it allow the occupant's master, Dr. Catopolis, to come back, it would also ensure that the Feline Fellowship would earn the hostility of the councilman for failing to rescue his family.

Again the occupant laughed, a long, hideous laugh akin to a demon of Hell with a new plaything, before hitting another button on her desk. A dim light projected from the desk, and a Voice boomed from the desk, a harsh, macanical voice, that simply stated "Is the Feline King ready for part two yet?"

And to this, the occupant said one word. "Yes."

3)The silent ticking of plans yet unfurled

Few suspected that on such a calm, peacefull day, the plans of a notorius villian would spring into action. Fewer still believed that City Councilman Dorane, one of the most influential politicians in all of Paragon, had servely, and some say despertly, switched his postion on the Rogue Isles trade issue, and by doing so, opened up access and trade with the islands by mid afternoon.

This was not known to Battlekitten or Kalda Centauri, though. They were too worried about another crisis. For with in the past twentyfour hours, not one minion of the Clockwork King had been seen. Not even damaged or wreckage from the clockwork. No Cogs, Sprockets, Gears, or Oscilators roamed the streets, and this worried numerous superheroes. For in Paragon's entire history, not one villian group had disappeared with out dire repercussions.

So Kalda and Battlekitten were searching the streets for any clue about the Clockwork. Scrap metal, strange or spare parts, and even reports of missing bicycles were investigated by the two, but to no avil. Until they cam across a back alley dumpster not too far outside the Feline Fellowship's HQ.

For in the dumpster, dimly reflecting the light of the mid-morning sun, was a golden cog. And, after Battekitten retrieved it, was found to have the following inscribed on it:
"
TO: Battlekitten & Kalda Centauri
INVITED: matters of grave importance
FROM: The King of Clockwork
"

Battlekitten said one word, "Trap." and to this, Kalda merley nodded. It was clear that the Clockwork King had something wicked panned, but until they could trace the origin of the Golden cog, there would be no way to know for certain what the plot held. Furthermore, both understood that sometimes, to be a hero, you may have to place yourself in direct danger.

For the rest of the day, Kalda and BK investigated smitheries and jewelers. Store after store professed no knowledage of the cog's creation, till sometime near sunset when the two heroes stumbled across a small shop in Independance Port. The man running the shop, a small, squat man that was reminiscent of a used car salesman, told them about a cloaked figure who placed the in order. With little persausin, the shop keeper gave them the address, for the bill was past due, and the shop keeper wanted his money.

With the address in hand, Kalda and BK left Independace Port.

It was with the rising of the cresent moon in the clear, star filled sky that they reached the building. It was in a destitute part of town, sorrunded by run down buildings and graffitied walls. The building itself appeared to once have been a factory, but those prosperous days where obviously over. Despite that, though, BK and Kalda marveled at the building's two front doors. They were mammoth in size, and the top of their curved arches easily reached fifteen feet in height. Along the outside of each door was a complex arrangement of gears, cogs, belts, and widgets with a single piece missing at eye level.

Kalda easily placed the Golden cog in the empty slot in the door, then stepped back and waited. Without warning, a cacophony of noise errupted from the door, the sound of a thousand pieces of factroy machinery working at once. The cogs, gears, and widgets spun and twirled, and with the final twirling of the Golden cog, the two doors opened to reveal what was inside.

irregular Posting

Hey everyone, sorry I haven't been posting as often as I should. 5 days is too long for me to go with out a post.

As for what I have been doing? Well, not much. I've been trying to write something, but so far, I keep on scrapping everything I have tried. When I do write something at least two pages long, I'll post it here so everyone can critize it. But so far, nothing really seems intresting enough to work on. Server case of writters block, I guess. Anyway, I'll keep trying.

As fopr my job, well, same old same old I guess. Friday is payday, and it should be a big check, so that'll help. I'll probally pick up the DVD drive, some text books for the new semester, and maybe a few other things.

As for my tastes in music, I got rid of Napster because of some weird licensing troubles it has with Windows Media Player (only on my home computer.), and instead got iTunes. I like iTunes music player better than Napster's, so I guess it's a win win situation.... unless you're napster, hehe.

Sorry for the short post, but I guess it's back to trying to break writters block.

Video Games and Productivity don't mix

Well, I've been addicted to a combonation of Doom3 and Harvest Moon. Sad, but enjoyable. Do not ask me how one person can be addicted to both games at one time, but it's possible.

The last day of the summer sumester is over!!! =) =) !!!! That means I do not have to be at school for two weeks!!!!!!! =) I remember back in Highschool how I had a two month break for, and now I'm getting excitded for a 2 week break. But the main reason why i took summer classes was so that I could help in the lab. I had to be taking courses over the summer to help, (and get paid), so that ment taking a 16 week course in 6 weeks. I don't think I'm doing that next summer B semester.

I have added a new company to my boycot list (now it's 2! EA's no longer alone.) It's an evil music company that is now putting encryption software on their CD's that will only allow 3 copies of the cd to be made. Well, technichly, 3 copies of the CD per computer, but still. A company should not treat it's costumers like criminals. And that is excatly what Sony BMG (Sony's music department) is doing. For that, they won't get my buisness. (I would have done the same thing to microsoft when they did the window's genuine authentication app, but my life revolves around windows, not Linux.) So no more sony products for me.... except the PS3 looks so nic.... NO!

Anyway, I'm going to log, so hopefully I won't be too distracted to post tomorrow.
